Individual Artist
From poetry to fiction, image to text, and print to screen, my work explores the impacts of emigration and technology on culture, the re-creation of myths after migration, and the interstices that result. I have four books in print, and two poetry-multimedia works available on the web. I am currently completing my first book of fiction, The Mango Stone, and working on several poetry projects, including a retelling of the great Sanskrit epic, The Mahābhārata. Please see my website for further details. My published books include three books of poetry, the first of which, towards the quiet (ECW Press), was short listed for the Gerald Lampert Award for best first poetry book in Canada. My second book, sensory deprivation / dream poetics (Coach House Books), received an Alcuin Award for design. My most recent book is clay lamps & fighter kites (The Mercury Press). I am chair of the Barrie Arts and Culture Council, a writer member of PEN Canada, and a member of the Writers’ Union of Canada.
