C. Nykaylla" Marengere

Individual Artist

Nykaylla's artwork is an expression of her passion for life and nature.  She is very spiritual and so she plays with the bright energetic colours to stimulate cheerfulness and positive energy.  Charcoal drawings bring out a different energy that are more simplistic and subjective to the viewer.  Nykaylla likes to capture her subjects in the moment.  These little moments are the moments that make memories special.  Nykaylla hopes that her art will stop you for a moment or two, so that it triggers a moment in your life that you can reflect upon.  These little moments are stepping stones in our lives; moments that we grew from and made us who we are today.  She believes that art is a language that speaks to your perspective; a language only you can understand to its deepest moments.

Nykaylla was born in Thompson Manitoba, and raised in Sudbury Ontario.  She moved to Elliot Lake to raise her family and then settled down here in the Sugarbush, just 20 min north of Barrie, Ontario.  As her 7th child prepared for college, it was time for Nykaylla to focus on her high school dream and complete a 3 year study in Fine Arts at Georgian College.  Nykaylla has been drawing and painting for over 35 years, and is also a Reiki practitioner.  Nykaylla uses a variety of medias, including graphite/water/acrylic/oil paintings/pastels.  Sculpture is also another exciting journey that she is exploring through wood and soapstone.  Nykaylla is also an activist for the awareness of abused women & children.
