WHAT IS THE BARRIE ARTIST NETWORK?
Sponsored by the Barrie Arts and Culture Council the Barrie Arts Network is your online connection to arts and culture in Barrie. As the only comprehensive multi-disciplinary on-line artist database for our region, Barrie Arts is your way in to the work of visual, performing, and literary artists living in Barrie and surrounding area. As an Artist or Organization (or both), this valuable resource provides a platform for you to connect with curators, organizations, architects, developers, community organizations, and businesses. ELIGIBLE TO JOIN THE NETWORK?
In order to join the registry, artists must be full-time residents or artists with working sites in Barrie. Artists or Organizations/Groups of all disciplines and at all career levels, from emerging to professional are welcome.

CAN ONE ARTIST BE LISTED AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND A GROUP?
Yes, if you are an individual artist as well as part of a group, then you would be required to submit two different applications to the registry – one as an individual artist with examples of your individual work and another as a group with examples of the group’s work.

WHAT IF I AM A LITERARY ARTIST AND DO NOT HAVE ANY IMAGES?
We strongly suggest literary artists to upload at least one image to their portfolio. Suggestions include the cover of their book or an author photo. As a user searches the database, a thumbnail image will appear along with contact information. It is recommended that at least one image be uploaded to be used as a thumbnail.

ARE ARTIST APPLICATIONS REVIEWED?
All applications to the registry go live on the website immediately upon completion of the application. Following the application process, a member of the Barrie Arts and Culture Council will review all applications to determine that all applicant information was included in the application process, that the support materials are consistent with the descriptions provided, and to ensure that the submissions are compatible with the purpose of the registry. Questions about applications will be directed to artists from the BACC via email.

WHO CAN USE THE BARRIE ARTIST NETWORK?
The registry is an on-line resource that is open and free to the public. They key audiences are arts organizations, arts presenters, curators, designers, artists, architects, developers, community groups, and businesses. Please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy before using the registry.

IS THERE A FEE TO USE THE NETWORK?
There is no cost to artists to join the registry and no cost to browse the registry.

HOW DOES AN ARTIST JOIN THE NETWORK?
There are five steps to the application:
1. Create an Account

2. Complete the Application Form

3. Input Bio and contact information

4. Upload work samples

5. Review and Approve Application
