Connory Ballantyne is a human being who currently resides in Barrie, training at Moving Art and performing with various art's groups in Barrie, in the study of a variety of specialties.
Besides improvisational comedy, sketch, and hip-hop, Connory enjoys having a blast working and playing at Moving Art in their company (ICE, Beauty and the Beast, Once on this Island).
He also has had the opportunity to perform with the talented people at KCP (Seussical the Musical, The Sound of Music, Alice in Wonderland, Dear Edwina, The Wiz, Tales of Andergrimm) and with the nutty creatures at Theatre by the Bay for the past two summers.
Apart from "classical" theatre, Connory has a beautiful relationship with the world of Improv. Traveling to Ottawa with his school Improv Team (placing 1st in Toronto and 9th in Canada) with the Canadian Improv Games, was his first real wake-up call. Since then he has trained with Second City's Lisa Merchant, Second City alumni Mike Holland, and started an improv troupe known as "The Modern Day Gypsies". MDG performed at Gilda's Club Grand Opening to start its run and has since been asked back to perform for their Christmas Show and to do an upcoming teaching program, as well as doing an upcoming wedding recital show, and a show for VON.
Connory loves telling stories in various ways, and in his spare time he reads, writes short stories, plays guitar, dabbles in piano, performs magic, song writes, improvs, juggles, and enjoys ping-pong, unicycling ,and listens to music. The End.
